“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world witnessing both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”Matthew 28:18-19, Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8
Horizon Baptist Church purposes to “go into all the world” starting at our own doorstep and reaching to the uttermost parts of the world. We do this in several ways: encouraging, teaching and training the body of Christ at HBC; involvement in our community and the needs of those around us; encouraging and helping other ministries; supporting orphanages; and prayer and monetary support to those serving as Missionaries.

Our Supported Missionaries:
Edgar & Rosann Feghaly
(Picture Temporarily Unavailable)
Dr. Edgar Feghaly was born in Lebanon to a Catholic father and Greek Orthodox mother. He was saved at the age of 7 through the ministry of a Baptist missionary who established a church near his home.
Dr. Feghaly and his wife, Roseann do extensive speaking and ministry in the United States.
Jeff and Deanna Dovall
Jeff and Deanne trusted Christ as their Savior at the age of four and dedicated their lives to serve as missionaries at the age of six and seven.
They had attended and led mission trips to six different countries. As senior pastor, Jeff led the vision for our church to send 10 of our people to the mission field by the year 2010. God answered our prayer, and we are a part of that 10.
“We are pioneering a church-planting work in Ecuador for the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism. It is our passion to see lives changed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are focusing on church–planting and pastoral training in the Tumbaco Valley, where less than 3% claim to be evangelical. Partner in pray with us as we carry the Gospel from the center of the world (Equator) to the end of the earth.”
Dennis & Janell Poulette
Dennis and Janell have been married since July 26, 1997. Dennis has a B.S. degree in youth ministry from Liberty University and an M.A. in theology from Columbia Biblical Seminary. Janell has a dental assisting degree from Pasco-Hernando Community College. The couple lived in Florida before moving to Mexico where Dennis served as a youth pastor and Janell worked for Nielsen Media Research.
Nathan was born in 2005, Benjamin in 2008, and Shiloh in 2010.
The Poulettes serve in Mexico City with Youth Ministry International. Their primary ministry is the training of nationals for local church youth ministry. Formal training is provided through The Center for Youth Ministry at the Mexican Baptist Theological Seminary. They are also involved with informal training through workshops, seminars, and conferences. Presently they direct YMI’s Latin America ministry and are looking to help in other Latin American countries as well as Mexico.
Dennis writes: “Why do we do it? Ninety-seven percent of the world’s trained youth workers live and work in the United States, ministering to less than 3% of the world’s youth population. That means there is one youth worker for every 600 young people in the United States. In the rest of the world, there is one youth worker for every 600,000 young people. Ninety percent of those who accept Christ do so before their 21st birthday. The world is in desperate need for trained youth workers who can minister and help young people in the local church. The youth of Latin America are abandoning the church in record numbers. We must reach the next generation. We believe that we can help train people to do that".
Ron & Frances Maggard
Ron was ordained in 1975 by the Broadway Baptist Church of Hopewell, VA, and a year later married his wife Frances. In 1977 they were sent as church planters to Connecticut. Two new churches were organized through their ministry.
In May of 1982 the Maggards were approved as missionaries with BBFI (Baptist Bible Fellowship International) and worked in Ireland until 1988. In 1983 Baptist Evangelism was founded. In the years following, they were involved with 10 additional church plants in Rhode Island, Maine, Vermont, New York, New Jersey, Utah and Arizona.
In 1994 Ron began evangelistic missions to Cuba, where the Maggards lived until 1999. The couple moved to Jupiter, Florida in 2000, where they started the Iglesia Bautista Faro de Luz. Since that time they have also been instrumental in planting churches in Cuba, Guatemala and Haiti. They are also involved with leadership training and orphanage ministries in Cuba, Guatemala and Haiti. They are presently overseeing 6 new church plants, 2 in Haiti and 4 in Guatemala.
Bruce & Lisa Burkholder
Spanish Translation Institute
By God’s grace, Bruce was born into a Christian family and thus was exposed to the truth and conviction of the Gospel from a very early age. One evening after family devotions, at the age of six years old, he repented of his sin and asked Christ to be his Savior. He was baptized a year later. Upon graduating from high school in 1980, Bruce attended Baptist University of America in Atlanta, GA. There two dramatic events transpired which changed the direction of his life. First, God burdened his heart for missionary service. Second, he met Lisa Toman. They both graduated from the college in 1984 and were shortly thereafter married. Bruce served as an associate pastor in Bridgeport, WV for four years. Sensing the need for greater preparation he enrolled at the Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary, graduating in 1994. God then directed the Burkholders to Mexico City, Mexico where they had the privilege to minister for ten years in the area of church planting and pastoral training. Currently Bruce is the Director of Theological Curriculum for Editorial Bautista Independiente (EBI), the Spanish Literature division of Baptist Mid Missions. They have three children: Jared, Lindsay, and Matthew.
Boris & Irina Goldin
Chosen Peoples Ministry
Boris Goldin moved to New York from Russia about eight years ago. He came looking for the "American Dream"-security and success – but his search took a whole different turn when his wife, Irina, became a believer in Jesus.
Boris resisted her witness and argued vehemently with her. But as he began to read the Bible for himself, Boris sensed the reality of God. After a year and a half of searching, Boris accepted Jesus as his Savior.
Recently, Boris helped begin a new Russian outreach in Brooklyn, New York. For the last three years, he sensed God's call to serve in full-time ministry. He left a successful insurance business and is now in Southern Florida with Chosen People Ministries.
Along with being a gifted evangelist and teacher, Boris Goldin is also an effective preacher of God’s Word. His passion is to see Jewish people throughout the world accept Jesus as their promised Messiah.
